You send your text to Kommazwerg: by e-mail, via a server link or by post. We work with all common file types:
- Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- OpenOffice, LibreOffice
- InDesign, InCopy
- Internet pages (text, screenshots or, preferably, directly in the CMS)
Proofreading and editing process
Once we have discussed what services you require and you have given us the go-ahead, a member of the Kommazwerg network will draw on their expertise and experience to proofread, edit, copywrite or translate your text.
How do you want the proofreading done?
a) Kommazwerg makes the corrections directly in the original file.
Kommazwerg will proofread your document using the Track Changes function in Word (Review → Track Changes) or the Record function in OpenOffice/LibreOffice (Edit → Changes → Record). This means that while you receive the final error-free version, you will nevertheless be able to see all the changes and where they were made, without having to insert the changes yourself.
For other editable document formats without change tracking, Kommazwerg can, upon request, provide a change report based on a text comparison.
b) Kommazwerg corrects the PDF, and you change the original document yourself.
In order for the corrections made by Kommazwerg to be visible 1:1 and thus printable, they are “hand-written” in standardised notation using the pencil tool or textboxes. This means no mouse-over comments and separate commentary summaries – unless, of course, you would prefer this, in which case Kommazwerg would be happy to accommodate.
The completed files are usually returned to clients in the same way that they were received. You will then be sent an invoice by e-mail. Payment is due within 30 days of the invoicing date.
